Treatment Descriptions

All treatments include a thorough (free) consultation and all consequent treatments include time for a catch up. If you are unsure about whether massage treatments will be right for you please don’t hesitate to call to talk through any questions or queries. Your health and wellbeing are my first concern and will never book you in if the treatment is not going to be suitable for you.

Aromatherapy                                                                                                                                                          Combines classical Swedish massage techniques with the powerful therapeutics of 100% natural essential oils. Relaxing, uplifting or using deep tissue techniques, the massage is designed around your needs.  Essential oils are chosen based on their suitability for your needs and also your intuition. I would never use an oil you didn’t like the smell of!   The oils may be chosen for relaxation or as part of a long term treatment plan for a particular health and wellbeing issue.

Thai Massage                                                                                                                                                         Rhythmical pressure and gentle stretches, Thai massage is unique and leave you with a feeling like no other. Sometimes referred to as Thai Yoga Massage this treatment rocks, squeezes, presses and pulls you into a state of awakened relaxation.  Working every muscle and joint dissipates tension and increases mobility. It also makes you feel about 2 inches taller!  The massage is performed fully clothed at ground level on a comfortable futon mat.  It is best to wear loose comfortable clothing .

Indonesian Massage                                                                                                                                                             A strong oil massage using aromatic invigorating essential oils (if appropriate) and deep therapeutic massage techniques such as frictions, plucking, stretches and acupressure. I think of Indonesian massage as the best of Aromatherapy, deep tissue and Thai massage combined. Very effective for aching muscles .

Thai Foot Massage                                                                                                                                                 Combining the techniques of classical reflexology and Thai foot massage, this treatment begins with a foot soak or scrub to soothe and freshen your feet.  Base oil or essential oils are then selected and applied to the lower legs and feet with massage strokes, acupressure points and specific reflex work using the thumbs and a traditional wooden Thai massage stick (not as scary as it sounds!).

Reflexology                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Reflexology is a simple, natural and non-invasive touch therapy that has many health benefits. The feet and hands are seen as a mirror of the body. When gentle pressure is applied to the reflex points the bodies natural recuperative abilities are stimulated aiding the body to heal itself.
Lomi Lomi
The traditional massage of the Hawaiian Islands, Lomi Lomi has been likened to ocean waves rolling over the body. This massage is applied with long, gentle, rhythmic strokes and fragrant oils to induce total peace and calm in the receiver and to invoke the spirit of Aloha (Love). A deeply relaxing and healing treatment.
Chavutti Thirumal                                                                                                                                                                 Is a traditional Indian massage first developed by the Kalari Martial Artists of Kerala India. Also known as foot/rope massage, Chavutti Thirumal is unique as the feet are predominately used to treat. The techniques are administered precisely by the practitioner’s foot, in long, sweeping therapeutic motions from the fingers to the toes of the recipient. The main focus of Chavutti Thirumal is to increase flexibility, maintain suppleness and relieve pain and tension. It is a thorough and deep treatment which is not only relaxing and rejuvenating, it also has the same benefits as attending a yoga class. It gives a wonderful feeling of having the tension ‘ironed’ out of you! This massage is suitable for anyone wishing to maintain their own physical fitness and well being.
